Located in the municipality of Tibau do Sul, Sibaúma Beach is part of the coast best known by tourists who arrive in Rio Grande do Norte. It is the perfect place for those who want to spend a quiet day and distant from the noise of other beaches. Those who like to know the history and culture of the place they visit, can not stop going to this beach.
The town was developed from a "quilombo" (villages where the slaves who fled from the fields met) and still keeps many traditions and customs of past times. People live in a very simple way and greatly value the heritage of their ancestors.
You can also find good inns and hotels in the region that has a structure with bars and restaurants to make the meals of the day. Here you will find delicious typical dishes of the region to savor with friends and family. There is also a lot of space to place chairs and pareos on the seashore during low tide.
The division of the municipalities of Tibau do Sul and Canguaretama is the Catu River that empties into the sea. With clean and calm waters, good for kayaking and stand up paddle. The place is so paradisiacal and with a unique culture that was the setting for the novel Flor do Caribe, exhibited at Red Globo in 2013.
How to get?
It is a beach that offers the most diverse types of access: car, van, buggy, bicycle. Starting from Pipa, the shortest way is through the dirt road entrance, following the cliffs after Chapadão and Playa de las Minas. This route offers an incredible visual, however, it is more recommended for 4x4 vehicles.
With vehicles for walks, follow the asphalt road that leaves Pipa direction Sibaúma.
