With calm waters and a beautiful green, is one of the most popular tourist spots.
It has cliffs around with a vegetation full of mangroves, the perfect place for shrimp farming. Even, the place is well known for offering delicacies made with that seafood. You will also find nearby the exuberant beauty of the Atlantic Forest.
You can make a wonderful and relaxing tour by the lagoon that has about 8 km navigable and takes approximately 1 hour. On this tour, you will have the pleasure of seeing dolphins swimming very close to the boat, doing jumps and pirouettes, as if they were exhibiting for tourists. It is simply fantastic!
During the walk, it is also possible to take advantage of the first stop to take a healthy bath of clay that is at the bottom of the mangroves and can be used at low tide. Moving on, it is also possible to find a small bar well in the middle of the lagoon on a sandbar. You can savor delicious meals such as shrimp brochettes, as well as tropical drinks that are made there. The feeling is of floating in the middle of the lagoon.
There are other diverse anchorages and ports, including a historic island, the Flamengo Island, in which you will find the ruins of a Dutch fort.
How to get?
The Guaraíras Lagoon became an arm of the sea that bathes the beach of Tibau do Sul. The lagoon also serves as a route for Malembá Beach and other destinations such as the city of Natal.
